OAKLAND BASEBALL PLACES FOUR ON HORIZON LEAGUE ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

DiLeo, Fitzgerald, Krsolovic and Zilinsky earn league academic honors

INDIANAPOLIS -
Oakland's Matt DiLeo, Ryan Fitzgerald, Ronnie Krsolovic and Myles Zilinsky were among four student-athletes named to the 2019 Horizon League Baseball All-Academic Team announced by the league office on Thursday. This marks the second consecutive season Oakland has placed the league's highest amount of selections on the team.
 
DiLeo, a 2017 All-Academic League selection and 3.71 senior in Marketing, has started all 44 games at catcher and designated hitter has reached base in 34 consecutive games. He leads the team hitting (.323), hits (50), triples (2 - 8th Horizon League), runs scored (31) and total bases (72), ranks second in home runs (4), stolen bases (11 – 9th HL), slugging percentage (.465) and on base percentage (.445 – 8th HL) and third in walks (27), RBI (24). DiLeo is also tied with team-best 12 multi-hit games with three 3-hit games. He also has four multi-RBI games with two 2-RBI and two 3-RBI games.
 
Fitzgerald, a 2018 All-Academic League selection and 3.73 senior majoring in Nursing, started in 28 games in center field with 15 hits, 13 runs, nine RBI and a home run before being sidelined due to injury. He ranks third on the team in stolen bases (7) and posted three multi-hit games and one 2-RBI game.
 
Krsolovic, a 3.76 senior majoring in Integrative Studies, started in 44 games at third base with 29 hits, 16 runs, five doubles, a triple and two home runs. He has recorded multiple hits in five games including notching the game-winning walk-off hit against Eastern Michigan and posted five multi-RBI games including one 3-RBI game and four 2-RBI games along with six multi-hit games.
 
Zilinsky, a 2018 All-Academic League selection and 3.73 senior double majoring in Finance and Accounting, has started 42 games in left field and ranks second on the team in walks (37 – 6th Horizon League), third in runs (27) and fourth in home runs (4), doubles (7) and RBI (19). He has a team second-best nine multi-hit games with eight 2-hit and one 3-hit games in addition to five multi-RBI game with four 2-RBI games and one 3-RBI game.
 
Oakland concludes the regular season against Wright State on Friday, May 17 at 11:30 a.m. at Mercy Field in Toledo, Ohio.
