
ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Golden Grizzlies will welcome the UIC Flames in their first home game of the season on Friday at 3 p.m. on the Oakland Softball Field. The team will play a single game Friday before rounding out the series with a doubleheader on Saturday at 12 pm and 2 pm.
The team is coming off a midweek loss to the Michigan State Spartans and are looking to take a series from the 6-0 defending conference champions.

- Back-to-back: Jamie Squires and Mikayela Marciniak hit back to back home runs against Michigan State.
- Brittney Miller continues to lead the team in average, hitting a strong .390.
- Kelsie Swanson leads the team in doubles with eight as well as leading in triples, legging out four this season. Swanson's triples lead the league as well.
- Jessie Munson is the go-to move em' over kid as she is tied for first in the league in sac-bunts.
- Lauren Griffith leads the team in average in conference play (.438) with one home run and seven hits in 16 at bats.
- In conference play, Swanson leads the team in hits with 13.
- Last season the Golden Grizzlies took the series from the Flames 2-1. They also faced them in the championship series at the 2018 Horizon League Championships beating them once, but losing in the final championship game.
- The Flames are a perfect 6-0 in conference play, sweeping Cleveland State and Detroit Mercy.
- UIC leads the league in home runs with 20, they also lead in RBIs.
