
ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland Softball will play a midweek conference series against Cleveland State Tuesday, Apr. 23 – Wednesday, Apr. 24. The single game on Tuesday is scheduled for 4 pm while the doubleheader on Wednesday is set for 1 and 3 pm.
Oakland (12-26, 5-12 HL) and Cleveland State (11-28, 4-11 HL) are currently sitting in the bottom of the conference standings as they fight for wins as the conference tournament is right around the corner.
Last year when the Vikings and Golden Grizzlies met, Oakland took the series 2-1 with winning scores of 10-2 and 16-2.
Notes
- Jackie Reitmeyer is swinging a hot bat as she cranked two home runs in the series against Wright State. Reitmeyer now has three homers on the season.
- Kelsie Swanson continues to lead her team in hits (46), doubles (10), triples (4) while being tied in average (.362) with Brittney Miller and tied in total bases (64) with Jamie Squires.
- Lauryn Debono leads the Oakland pitchers with an ERA of 4.29 – she also leads the team in strikeouts (75) and innings pitched (75.0).
- Swanson ranks sixth in the league in runs scored with 31. She also ranks sixth in average and first in triples.
- Jessie Munson continues to lead the league in sacrifice bunts with nine and Shannon Carr ranks sixth in steals with 11.
- Mikayela Marciniak is looking to keep things rolling in the Cleveland State series as she currently has a five game hit streak going, while Shannon Carr has a hit in her last four games.
