ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland Softball Team will travel to East Lansing, Mich. to take on the Michigan State Spartans in a single mid-week match up Wednesday, Apr. 3. The first pitch is for 6 p.m.
 
The Golden Grizzlies are coming off of a three game losing streak in conference and are looking to take down the 1-4 (Big Ten) Spartans.  
 
The game will be streamed live on the Big Ten Network.

NOTES

• The last meeting between Oakland and MSU was in 2011 when Oakland split with the Spartans in a doubleheader.
• Oakland holds a 5-20 all-time record against Michigan State.
• The Golden Grizzlies offense ranks second in the league with a .299 overall batting average, just .006 points behind the UIC leaders.
• Kelsie Swanson ranks fifth in slugging percentage in the league with .538. Swanson also ranks second in runs scored (27) , fifth in hits (33).
• Swanson ranks first in the league in triples with four. She also ranks ninth in doubles (eight).
• Jessie Munson is the move em' over gal as she has recorded seven sacrifice bunts, which ranks tied for first in the league.
• Speedster Shannon Carr has a team high 10 stolen bases – she ranks second in the league in the category.
• The Golden Grizzlies dropped two games to rival foe Northern Kentucky this past weekend. Their conference record is 1-7, ranking second to last in the league.
