
ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland Softball team will hit the road for a three-game series against the Wright State Raiders. Due to weather conditions the teams will face off in a doubleheader on Friday, Apr. 19 with game one beginning at 4 pm with game two's first pitch set for 6 pm. Saturday's single game has a tentative start time of 11 am.
The last time the Golden Grizzlies and Raiders faced off, Wright State swept Oakland in their home opener winning game one 3-2 and game two 1-0. The two teams met once more at the conference tournament where Oakland pulled out the win 2-1 advancing in the tournament.

- The last time Oakland took the field was Apr. 13 when they split a doubleheader with IUPUI winning game two in nine innings, 10-9.
- In the Golden Grizzlies win over IUPUI, Lauren Griffith went 3-for-5 with two RBI's while Jamie Squires went 2-for-4 with three RBI's thanks to a 3 run bomb over the left field fence.
- Kelsie Swanson continues to lead her team in conference play averaging .426 with 47 at bats. Just in conference play alone she has 20 hits, 13 runs, four doubles and two triples, good for a slugging percentage of .596.
- Jamie Squires leads the team with six home runs. She also leads the team in RBI (29) and total bases (62).
- Oakland now sits in eighth place in the Horizon League standings with a 4-10 conference record. Cleveland State sits in ninth with a 3-9 record while UIC, the current league leaders are 10-2.
- Kelsie Swanson and Brittney Miller are ranked fifth and sixth respectively in overall batting average. Swanson with .371 and Miller with .361.
- Squires also ranks third within the league in slugging percentage (.579), sixth in RBI (29), and seventh in home runs.
- Speedy Shannon Carr leads her team and ranks sixth in the league in steals with 11 this season.
- Pitcher Lauryn Debono is ranked fourth in the league in opposing batting average. Debono has held opponents to a .261 average.
