
ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland baseball team travels to the Windy City for a weekend conference series at UIC starting on Fri., Apr. 19 at 4 p.m. ET followed by a doubleheader on Sat., Apr 20 beginning at 1 p.m. ET. This series was originally set to be played at the Oakland Baseball Field but was moved to Curtis Granderson Stadium due to rainy weather forecasts and unplayable field conditions.

- UIC is 17-13 on the season and 10-4 in league play after sweeping NKU last weekend. Earlier this season, Oakland dropped its league opening series at UIC (3-1, 7-2, 4-2).
Mario Camilletti led the Golden Grizzlies hitting .400 (4-for-10) with two RBI while
Matt DiLeo,
Mike McGee and
Blake Griffith each recorded three hits.
- Oakland enters the series after dropping a mid-week game at Toledo, 19-8, on Tuesday.
Drew Demumbrum hit 3-for-5 with two RBI, a double and three stolen bases while
Myles Zilinsky also went 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI as Oakland fell, 18-9, at Toledo on Tuesday at Scott Park.
Matt DiLeo and
Blake Griffith each went 2-for-4 while
Ronnie Krsolovic belted a two-run homer.
Jace Matkin also added a RBI single.
- DiLeo has reached base in 23 consecutive games and leads the team in hitting (.304), triples (2 – 5th HL), stolen bases (8 – 7th HL) and runs scored (23) while ranking third in hits (35) and home runs (3)
- Camilletti leads the team walks (32 – 3rd HL) and is second in hitting (.297), hits (35) and ranks fifth in RBI (17)
- Demumbrum leads the team in hits (36), home runs (5 – 6th HL), slugging percentage (.472), total bases (59) and in RBI (28 – 10th HL)
- On the mound,
Beau Keathley leads the team and the league in strikeouts (66) and has recorded double figure strikeouts twice this season at Morehead State (12) and at YSU (13). He was named Nike® Horizon League Pitcher of the Week after earning his third straight win posting eight strikeouts allowing only one hit off a bunt and one unearned run in 7.0 innings of work to lead Oakland to a 3-1 victory over Milwaukee in the series finale (4/7). Earlier in the season, Keathley was named Nike® Horizon League Pitcher of the Week and was also selected as one of Collegiate Baseball's National Players of the Week after a dominant performance on the mound going the distance tossing a complete game shutout allowing only three scattered hits while posting a career-high 13 strikeouts to lead Oakland to an 8-0 series clinching win over YSU. Keathley allowed just one hit in the first, second and ninth innings and retired 14 straight batters between the third and seventh innings.
