ROCHESTER, Mich. – The softball team will open up league play at Youngstown State Mar. 23-24 as the original game times were pushed back a day due to inclement forecasted weather. The doubleheader on Saturday is slotted for 2 & 4 p.m. while the single game Sunday is scheduled for 12 p.m.

NOTES

• Brittney Miller currently ranks seventh in the country (as of March 20) in batting average. She holds a .491 average which also ranks second in the Horizon League.
• Miller also ranks first in the league in on-base percentage (.538) and second in slugging percentage (.649)
• Miller continues to lead Oakland in hits with 28, which also ranks third in league play. She only trails two hits behind Lexi Watts (UIC) who has 30.
• Jamie Squires has been a run producing machine as she leads the team with 18 RBI's and two home runs. Squires ranks third in the league in the RBI category.
• Mikayela Marciniak leads the team in doubles and walks and was named the Horizon League Softball Player of the week for the week of 3/12-3/19 – becoming the first Golden Grizzlies to earn the honor this season.
• Lauryn Debono leads the Oakland pitching staff with an ERA of 3.84. She also leads the staff in strikeouts with 28.
• Last year, YSU won the series 2-1 defeating the Golden Grizzlies 8-3 and 9-3.
