

ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland Softball team is set to compete in the 2019 Buff & Blue Challenge, hosted by George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Oakland will take on Georgetown and George Washington, Friday Mar. 15 at 11 am and 3 pm respectively before taking on the same schools Saturday at 9 am and 1 pm. The Golden Grizzlies will round out the tournament playing Stony Brook, Sunday at 9 am.
Live stats will be available for all games while the games against George Washington will be live streamed on ESPN+.
NOTES
· Brittney Miller currently ranks third in the country (as of March 12) in batting average. She holds a .576 average which also ranks first in the Horizon League.
· Miller knows the key to consistency as she has recorded as least one hit in all but two games this season.
· Miller continues to lead the league in average and on base percentage
· Miller also ranks second in slugging percentage (.727) and leads the Golden Grizzlies in hits with 20. Shannon Carr trails in the hits category with 17.
· Kelsie Swanson ranks tied for second in the league in triples with two.
· Jamie Squires leads the team in RBI's with 13, while also leading in home runs with two.
· Last time out Oakland dropped a doubleheader to the Bowling Green Falcons by scores of 6-5 and 8-4.
· Oakland set a season game high – 15 hits against Sacred Heart (Feb. 16).
· Oakland has five newcomers who are looking to make a quick difference on the field. Newcomers include: Hannah Chadwell, Arieanna Grammatico, Lauren Griffith, Sidney Rayba and Kayla Gibson.
