BLOOMINGTON, Ind. / UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Rachel Levy broke her own school record in the 3000m with a time of 9:37.77, placing first, making it her fourth consecutive meet with a first place finish. Her time also ranks her 14
th in the NCAA. Freshman Connor also had a great outing at the Indiana University Gladstein Invite as he set a new freshman record in the men's 3000m with a time of 8:27.16. Goetz's time beat out former Oakland standout
Bryce Stroede by one second.
Other notable performances at the Gladstein Invite came from
Zach Stadnika who placed third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.33 and
Gabby Cyriax who placed fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 53 ft., 11 in.
At the SVSU Doug Hansen Open,
Chanel Gardner continued her dominance in the 200m, placing first again with a time of 56.40.
Malcolm McIntyre and Napoleon Outlaw placed second (22.00) and third (22.20) respectively. In addition,
Alex Hugh-Plott placed first in the high jump with a mark of 2.03m.
Jimmie Williams chalked up another 400m win, placing first with a time of 48.11 and
Maggie Schneider captured the women's 3000m race with a time of 9:59.41. In the men's 3000m heat
Connor Wuori placed first with a time of 8:44.23 followed by
Brad Mallory in second and
Zach Pettinga in third.
In addition, Napoleon Outlaw and
Junias Holmes placed third and fourth respectively in the 60m.
Andriana Smith placed seventh in the women's 60m with a time of 7.91.
Oakland will continue competition tomorrow, Jan. 19.
