ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland baseball team concludes the regular season with a pivotal series at Milwaukee beginning on Thur., May 17 at 4 p.m. ET, followed by a game on Fri., May 18 at 4 p.m. ET and the series finale on Sat., May 19 at 1 p.m. ET. - With only three games remaining in the regular season, three teams will be battling it out trying secure the No. 2 seed and first round bye along with No. 1 seed Wright State at the upcoming Horizon League Tournament. Oakland (11-12) sits in fourth-place mere percentage points behind third-place Milwaukee (11-11) in the league standings. Both teams also sit one game behind second-place UIC (12-9) who wraps up against fifth-place YSU.
- Lee now sits at 95 strikeouts on the season and needs just nine more to break the school season record of 103
- Nate Schweers recently set the school career record for appearances with 78 against YSU (5/5)
- Keathley picked up his first career win tossing 5.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts and only one walk to lead Oakland to a series clinching 10-3 win over YSU (5/6).
- Ryan Fitzgerald was named Horizon League Batter of the Week after hitting .500 going 5-for-10 with five runs, seven total bases and .700 slugging percentage helping Oakland to a series win over Youngstown State. In the game one 16-6 win, Fitzgerald went 4-for-4 driving in a career-high six RBI with a three-run double, two-run single and RBI double while drawing two walks to reach base in all six plate appearances from the lead-off position. He also went 1-for-4 with a pair of runs in the series clinching win.
- Earlier this season, Tyler Trovinger hit .583 going 7-for-12 with three doubles, two RBI, three runs scored and 10 total bases with a .833 slugging percentage to lead Oakland to series win over Milwaukee. He hit a two-run double helping Oakland to 6-3 win (3/30) in game one and went 4-for-5 with a pair of runs to lead the Golden Grizzlies to a 12-7 series clinching win (3/31). Jordan Jackson also swung a hot bat hitting .600 against Milwaukee with six runs scored and an RBI.
- Nick Parr picked up his first win of the season going 7.0 innings with nine strikeouts while only allowing two hits and one run in the series opening win
- Myles Zilinsky hit his first career grand slam home run followed by Thomas Miller who connected on his first career home run to cap off a six-run sixth inning helping Oakland to the series clinching win over the Panthers
