CHICAGO -- Jessie Munson went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a triple while Haley Zemmer recorded another strong outing, pitching 5.0 innings and allowing two runs as the Oakland softball team took down UIC 10-2 to earn the series win Saturday.
The Golden Grizzlies poured in seven runs in the first inning starting with a two-RBI single by Kelsie Swanson. Munson's triple drove in two more runs followed by another two-RBI triple by Jamie Squires. Madison Jones capped off the inning with a RBI-single.
Natalie Herrington hit her first career home run in the second inning to give the Golden Grizzlies an 8-0 lead.
Munson drove in her third RBI of the day in the fourth inning with a base hit and Herrington scored on a UIC error.
