Xavier Hill-Mais has been named Horizon League Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 5-11 after recording multiple career highs in Oakland's season opener against Toledo.
Hill-Mais, a redshirt-junior from Greensboro, N.C., recorded a career high 30 points and nine rebounds against the Rockets on Nov. 9, while also shooting a career best 14 of 21 from the floor as he registered his first career 30-point game. The redshirt-junior forward was just one of two Horizon League players to notch 30 points or more in the opening weekend. In all, Hill-Mais registered seven career highs in points, rebounds, minutes, field goals made, field goals attempted, three-pointers made and attempted.
The Golden Grizzlies will return to action Tuesday, Nov. 13 as they host Western Michigan for a mid-week contest at 7 p.m. inside the O'rena.
