ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Ava Thielman fell in the round of 16 ending her impressive run for Oakland tennis at the ITA Regional Championships Sunday hosted by University of Michigan.
 
Thielman dropped her singles match against Danielle Wolf from Ohio State, 7-6, 6-0.
 
To begin the singles qualifying draw, Dasha Artamonova took on Lera Patiuk from University of Michigan, falling 6-2, 6-2.
 
Oakland's Samantha Galloway also competed in the qualifying singles round, taking the match 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 from DePaul's Milica Tesic. In the following round, Galloway fell to Chicago State's Iesha Shepherd, 7-6, 6-1.
 
The double teams of Thielman / Galloway (Pedraza Novak/Belaya-ILL) and Artamonova / Sofia Borcuti (Metcalf/Pietrowicz-MSU) fell in the opening round 8-6 and 8-4 respectively.
 
The Golden Grizzlies will conclude their fall season Friday, Oct. 26 – Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Western Michigan Invitational in Kalamazoo, Mich.
