VALPARAISO, Ind. - Right-handed pitcher Conor Bowers tossed 8.0 strong innings, allowing just one hit and recorded a career-high eight strikeouts, while Emerson Misch went 3-for-4, driving in two runs to lead Oakland (12-33, 9-14 HL) to a 7-0 shutout victory over Valparaiso (20-27, 9-14 HL) in the nightcap on Sunday at Emory G. Bauer Field.

Bowers (1-3) did not allow a hit through 7.0 innings, but Valpo's Giovanni Garbella led off the eighth inning with a single through the left side to break up the no-hit bid. Oakland's Tyler Trovinger finished 2-for-3 at the plate, with two runs scored and one RBI.

In game one, Mike McGee went 1-for-2, with a sacrifice fly and drove in two runs, while Tyler Pagano and Ryan Fitzgerald each finished 2-for-4 with a double as the Crusaders beat the Golden Grizzlies, 13-3. Right-handed pitcher Jake Lee (1-6) threw 4.0 innings, allowing three runs, two earned runs and struck out three.

The Golden Grizzlies will host Western Michigan on Wednesday at the Oakland Baseball Field at 3 p.m.
