MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Tyler Pagano recorded a team-best two runs, and added one RBI as the Oakland baseball team fell in a non-conference match-up to Central Michigan, 9-7 on Wednesday.
Central Michigan (14-14) jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the third inning, as the game came to a halt due to a two hour rain delay heading into the fourth inning.
The Golden Grizzlies (3-23) answered by adding two runs in the top of the seventh, while the Chippewas added three more of their own to make it 9-2 heading into the eighth inning.
Oakland rallied in the ninth, tallying four hits and five runs. Emerson Misch started things off with a double down the right field line to score Pagano. Drew Demumbrum followed with a double of his own to right center to score Dileo and Misch. Ryan Fitzgerald scored the final run of the inning, as the Golden Grizzlies late-game rally came up short.
