ROCHESTER, Mich - Haley Zemmer tossed a complete game with five strikeouts allowing only one unearned run to come up on the short end of a pitcher's duel with UIC's Elaine Helfin as Oakland (13-31, 8-14) fell 1-0 in the series finale on Senior Day Saturday.

Sarah Hartley, Lyndsay Hill and Danielle Szajna accounted for all three of Oakland's hits off Helfin with also had five strikeouts.

The game remained scoreless until the sixth inning where the Flames scratched across the winning run off a defensive miscue.

With Valparaiso splitting their final two games against Wright State, the Crusaders jumped Oakland for the sixth and final spot in the Horizon League Tournament.
