ROCHESTER, Mich. - Mikayela Marciniak went 1-for-1 with a RBI single while drawing two walks as Oakland (10-24, 5-7) dropped the series opener to visiting Cleveland State, 7-1, Tuesday afternoon at the Oakland Softball Field.

Sarah Hartley, Abbey Walewski, Danielle Szajna and Hayley Bartholemew each recorded hits as the Golden Grizzlies struggled to get the offense on track against CSU pitcher Susan Knight who allowed one run on five hits to pick up the win.

Oakland and CSU will conclude the series with a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 27 beginning at 1 p.m.
