ROCHESTER, Mich. - Chris Van Dyke tossed 5.0 innings with four strikeouts in his first start of the season, while Robby Enslen went 3-for-3 and scored two runs as the Oakland baseball team (9-29) defeated Central Michigan (28-16), 5-3, on Wednesday from the Oakland Baseball Field.

Van Dyke earned his first win allowing two unearned runs on four hits. Lucas Scocchia collected his third save of the season recording two strikeouts in the final inning.

Oakland jumped out to a 3-1 advantage after the first inning led by Ian Yetsko driving in a run with a single to left field and later scored on a groundball to first base off the bat of Tyler Pagano.

The Golden Grizzlies extended the lead in the third inning as Enslen and Yetsko hit back-to-back doubles with two outs.

Central Michigan cut the lead to 4-2 in the fifth inning on a Robert Greenman RBI-single, but Oakland would once again make it a three-run game in the sixth as Trent Drumheller ripped a single to center field to plate Matt DiLeo from second base.

CMU's Josh Pierce suffered the loss allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits in 3.0 innings of work.

The Oakland baseball team hits the road this weekend for a three-game Horizon League series at Youngstown State starting Friday at 11 a.m. from Eastwood Field.
