EAST LANSING, Mich. - Mike Brosseau recorded three hits and scored a run, while Robby Enslen collected an RBI as the Oakland baseball team (3-15) lost to Michigan State (11-11), 7-1, Wednesday afternoon from McLane Stadium.

"Michigan State is a very good team and they played very well today," said head coach John Musachio. "We couldn't put anything together against their starter Gonzalez. He pitched very well. He got ahead of our hitters and executed consistently."

The Golden Grizzlies scored their lone run of the game in the ninth inning as Brosseau tallied his third hit of the game, was sacrificed to second by Brett Impemba and was driven home by Enslen with an infield single.

Michigan State jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a Kory Young RBI-single in the second inning, followed by Ryan Richardson and Zack McGuire each driving in a run in the third inning.

The Spartans took control of the game with a three-run fourth inning to go up 6-0. Mark Weist doubled down the left-field line to plate a run and later Cam Gibson scored on a wild pitch and Richardson tallied his second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly to left field.

Oakland starter Collin Gee suffered the loss throwing 3.0 innings, allowing three runs on five hits with two strikeouts. Michigan State's Andrew Gonzalez earned the win tossing 6.0 shutout innings, allowing three hits with five strikeouts.

The Golden Grizzlies will be back on the diamond this weekend as they continue Horizon League play with a three-game series against Milwaukee. The series has been moved to Wisconsin due to unplayable field conditions at the Oakland Baseball Field.
