BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - Camille Hemond-Hill tallied her first collegiate victory while teammates Elizabeth Guy and Juliana Guevara each posted shutout straight-set wins as Oakland women's tennis defeated Green Bay 7-0 Sunday evening at the Bloomfield Tennis and Fitness Club. The win was the first Horizon League victory of the season for the Golden Grizzlies.

In doubles play, Oakland's Tamara Blum and Guy rushed out to a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles thanks to two early breaks of service. After Green Bay captured a win at No. 1 doubles, the Oakland tandem of Guevara and Karine Celis rallied from a 2-5 deficit to win the next five games and win 7-5 to earn the team doubles point.

Guy then carried over her success from doubles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles to keep momentum going for the Golden Grizzlies. Oakland increased its lead to 3-0 with a near-flawless victory by Blum at No. 3 singles in her 6-0, 6-1 win.

Guevara sealed the team win with her convincing 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles. Cam Sabourin followed shortly thereafter and battled out a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.

Hemond-Hill overcame an early deficit in her first set with key breaks early on the way to a 6-4 first-set win at No. 5 singles. She then followed with a 3-0 start in the second set to win in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

Celis rounded out Oakland's team effort with a gritty match at No. 2 singles. Trailing 4-1 early, Celis rallied to claim a 7-5 first-set win; that late momentum carried over to the second set, where Celis was victorious 7-5, 6-1.

The Golden Grizzlies hit the road next weekend for a pair of contests in Ohio, starting Saturday, March 28 at Youngstown State.
