ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland men's and women's cross country runners Bryce Stroede and Rachel Levy have both been selected as Oakland's Student-Athlete of the Week after each set school records at the Bradley Pink Classic over the weekend.
Stroede, a junior from Horton, Mich., set the school's 8K record with a time of 24:16.0, besting the old record by 12 seconds. He placed 10th overall out of 249 runners as the team placed seventh. Levy, a freshman from Midland, Mich., set Oakland's 6K record in her first collegiate race with a time of 20:58.7, 11 seconds faster than the old record. She led the Golden Grizzlies to a second-place finish.
The men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action on Oct. 31 as they compete in the Horizon League Championships in Cedarville, Ohio.
