ROCHESTER, Mich. - Robby Enslen went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and Mike Brosseau finished with two hits as the Oakland baseball team (10-30, 5-16 HL) dropped the series finale to Milwaukee (18-25, 9-12 HL), 14-6, Sunday afternoon at the OU Baseball Field. It was also Senior Day as the Golden Grizzlies honored Jason Hager, Tim Koons and Jared Theisen at their final home game.
"Milwaukee came out pretty aggressive today and knocked Jake Paulson around pretty good," said coach John Musachio. "We dug ourselves a pretty big hole early and it was to much to overcome. We were able to win the series which is our goal and we have to keep getting better and take the momentum into UIC next weekend."
Milwaukee came out on fire with 11 runs in the first four innings. In the first inning the Panthers scored four runs as Ryan Solberg hit a triple to score a run and Nick Unes had a RBI-double. The Panthers would add two runs in the second inning with a Solberg home run and two more in the third inning as Derek Peake homered to right field and Solberg singled up the middle to drive in a run.
Oakland would cut the UWM lead in the sixth inning as Enslen hit a bases-loaded double to drive home three runs followed by Brosseau driving him in with a single to right-center field. The Golden Grizzlies added two runs in the ninth inning as Brett Impemba drove in a run with a ground ball to second base then Brosseau would later score on a wild pitch.
Jake Paulson suffered the loss throwing 1.2 innings, allowing six runs on nine hits. UWM's Tyler Thicke earned the win tossing 6.0 innings allowing four runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
Oakland finished with six runs on 10 hits and two errors, while Milwaukee had 14 runs on 21 hits and no errors.
The Golden Grizzlies will play its final regular season series next weekend at UIC beginning on Friday at 7:05 p.m. ET
