BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - Juliana Guevara and Tamara Blum were winners at No. 6 and No. 4 singles, respectively, as Oakland (5-11, 1-3 HL) dropped a 5-2 match to Horizon League leader Cleveland State (6-10, 3-0) Sunday evening at Bloomfield Tennis and Fitness Club.

"Juliana played very well today and was able to carry over her success from yesterday," Oakland head coach Heather Redshaw said. "Tamara also played great today. Overall, as a team, we competed well and were rallying around one another."

Guevara and doubles partner Karine Celis were in a neck-and-neck battle at No. 1 doubles to start the evening and had a 5-4 lead on the Vikings before Cleveland State tallied victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the point.

Cleveland State then secured the team win with straight-set wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 2 singles, in order.

Blum improved to 2-2 in Horizon League singles with her straight-set win at No. 4 singles, besting Cleveland State's Mathilde Orange 6-3, 6-2.

Guevara then followed with her win at No. 6 singles, coming back after dropping the second set to win in the super tie-breaker, 12-10, for her third singles win in Horizon League action. Cleveland State added another team point with a win at No. 5 singles to end the night.

One match awaits Oakland next weekend when the Golden Grizzlies travel to Wright State Sunday, April 6 for an 11 a.m. dual.
