CLEARWATER, Fla. - Sarah Hartley was strong both offensively and defensively for Oakland all day with three hits, three runs batted in and two runs while adding two putouts and five assists as OU (9-8) bested Mount St. Mary's (4-5), 9-4 and dropped an extra-innings contest to Campbell (12-8), 5-4 in the USF Under Armour Invitational. The loss snapped a seven-game win streak for the Golden Grizzlies.

In the opening contest, Oakland put up four runs in the top of the first inning for an early start over Mount St. Mary's. One more run in the top of the second, two in the top of the third and two in the top of the seventh would bring the score to 9-0 in favor of OU. Mount St. Mary's was able to bring four across the plate, but could not overcome the Grizzlies and the game concluded, 9-4.

Chelsea Carena and Meghan Tangney were both 4-for-3 at the plate in the game. Cumulatively, Oakland strung together 17 hits and Hartley led the way with three of the team's eight total RBIs.

Campbell awaited Oakland in the nightcap, which promised to be a bit tougher competition. The Camels pushed three across the plate in the bottom of the third before the Grizzlies answered back immediately in the top of the fourth with three runs of their own. The score remained tied through seven innings.

In the top of the eighth, Oakland was able to squeak in one run in the top of the eighth for the advantage and needed to play tough defense to close out the game. Campbell tied the game at 4-4 before earning the go ahead run off an Oakland infield error to end the game 5-4.

Erin Kownacki pitched all 7.2 innings of the game surrendering seven hits and five runs, three of them earned. She also added one walk and one strikeout.

Oakland closes out the USF Under Armour Invitational and its spring trip on Sunday against Central Connecticut at 9 a.m.
