CHICAGO - Oakland was selected to finish seventh in the 2014-15 Horizon League Preseason Poll, announced by the league office at Men's Basketball Media Day. The league's nine head coaches, staff and media voted on the preseason poll. Corey Petros and Kahlil Felder were preseason all-league selections.

Petros was a preseason all-league first-team selection. The 6-foot-10 inch center led the league in rebounds (8.2 per game) and double-doubles (9). He shot 57.6 percent from the floor, fifth-best in the Horizon League, and grabbed a league and career-best 19 rebounds in a game versus Eastern Michigan a season ago. Petros earned his undergraduate degree in business administration and is currently pursuing his MBA.

The 2014 Horizon League Freshman of the Year, Felder was named to the preseason second team. The 5-foot-9 inch point guard broke the league single-season freshman record with 212 assists, most by any freshman in the NCAA. Felder recorded Oakland's first-ever triple-double in an overtime victory over the UDM Titans last year as he posted a league-best three points-assists double-doubles.

The regular-season defending champion Green Bay Phoenix were tabbed as the league favorite, earning 32 first-place votes and 357 points. Following the Phoenix was Cleveland State with the remaining nine first-place votes and 335 points.

The Golden Grizzlies will begin exhibition action on Saturday, Nov. 1 against Ferris State inside the Athletics Center O'rena. Game time is set for 1 p.m. ET and will be free admission.
