ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland University and head men's basketball coach Greg Kampe announced the non-conference schedule Monday to kick off the 2025-26 Golden Grizzlies season.
Under the guidance of Kampe, the longest-tenured head coach at one school in Division I, will lead the Golden Grizzlies for his 42nd season. He currently sits at 715 wins and ranks in the top-10 for most wins by active Division I head coaches.
The Golden Grizzlies return to the court for two exhibitions on the Blacktop in October, hosting Alma on Oct. 22 and Rochester Christian on Oct. 30.
The regular season will kick off with three tough road opponents, all projected in the Top 10 of ESPN's early Top-25 teams. The Golden Grizzlies will start local, heading to Ann Arbor to open the regular season against the Michigan Wolverines on Monday, Nov. 3. OU will stay facing Big Ten opponents with a trip to take on Purdue on Oct. 7 before facing the 2025 National Runner-Up, Houston, on Nov. 12.
Oakland will head back to the OU Credit Union O'rena for a Saturday afternoon contest against Defiance (OH) on Nov. 15, then travel south to the Sunshine State to see the Knights of Central Florida on Nov. 17. Kampe and the Golden Grizzlies will wrap up November with a road game against Eastern Michigan (Nov. 21) and the team's Thanksgiving Multi-Team Event (MTE) in Missoula, Montana to play against Lamar (Nov. 24) and Montana (Nov. 25).
The team opens December with a Mid-American Conference battle, hosting Toledo on Dec. 6, before a road test in Iowa to face Northern Iowa on Dec. 13. Oakland will finish their non-conference slate inside the Little Caesars Arena for the annual meeting of Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans in downtown Detroit, December 20.
TV schedule, promotions, and away game times have yet to be announced. Men's Basketball season tickets are on sale, with premium and sideline seats still available. Single game tickets will be on sale via Ticketmaster on Monday, Sept. 22 or by calling the box office.
