BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Oakland Men's Basketball Coach Greg Kampe is set to be inducted into the Bowling Green State University's Athletic Hall of Fame as a part of the Class of 2025, the university announced yesterday. Kampe was a two-sport athlete, lettering in both football and basketball from 1974-78.
Kampe was a punter and a defensive back on the gridiron for the Falcons. He was a two-time All-MAC Second-Team selection and set the school record (since broken) with a 77-yard punt in a 1975 win over Southern Miss. In basketball, Kampe earned three letters as a guard for BGSU.
The longest tenured coach in Division I men's basketball, Kampe was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame and enshrined in the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) Hall of Fame in 2017. He currently holds 715 career victories in 41 seasons at OU. Kampe's induction ceremony is set for Friday evening, Oct. 10.
