OAKLAND HELD IN CHECK AT WESTERN MICHIGAN, 7-0

Kalamazoo, Mich. - Cam Sabourin took an early first-set lead in her singles match against Western Michigan Friday evening, but the Broncos dominated Oakland as the Golden Grizzlies dropped a 7-0 decision at the West Hills Athletic Club.

After losing the doubles point, Oakland headed to singles play looking to get back on track. Sabourin won her first set against WMU's Yuriko Ono with a convincing 6-0 score, but Ono rallied to win 0-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6). The remainder of Oakland's singles matches were decided in straight sets.

The Golden Grizzlies (0-3) will look to get their first win of the spring Sunday, Feb. 2 at Akron.
