ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Meghan Reynolds scored her second goal of the season in Oakland's young 2013 season, but it wasn't enough as the Golden Grizzlies dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 19 Michigan at U-M Soccer Stadium Sunday afternoon.

"For the first 30 we were all over them, and got a number of scoring chances and got behind them; we had da great first thirty," said interim head coach Dave Morgan. "The score was not a reflection of the overall game. We competed real well against a nationally-ranked team."

With the setback, Oakland drops to 1-1-0 on the year.

Both teams battled close in the game's opening 30 minutes, but Michigan (2-0-0) scored four goals over the final 13 minutes of the opening stanza. The Wolverines then tallied early in the second half to take a 5-0 lead.

Reynolds scored in the game's 76th minute when she bested Michigan's goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation for her second strike in as many outings.

Michigan added the game's final goal in the 85th minute. The Wolverines had just an 18-11 lead in shots on the day and a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Oakland netminders Payj O'Shea and Stephanie Bukovec split the goalkeeping duties against Michigan, with Bukovec making five of the team's six saves.

Next up for the Golden Grizzlies is a trip to South Bend, Ind., to participate in Notre Dame's adidas Invitational. Oakland will face the host Fighting Irish Friday, Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
