ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland (14-28) will host Central Michigan (20-25) in a non-conference midweek game this Wednesday at the OU Baseball Field. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
The Golden Grizzlies are coming off a series win at North Dakota State. OU improved to 9-9 in Summit League play and is currently in third place in the standings.
The Chippewas face Kalamazoo College this afternoon before making the trip to Rochester tomorrow. CMU is currently 9-12 in Mid-American Conference play and are tied for fourth place in the MAC West standings.
CMU leads the overall series 30-6. The Golden Grizzlies are 3-3 this season versus MAC opponents, including a 7-4 setback in Mount Pleasant on April 10th. OU split with MAC East division leader Buffalo on March 15th and 16th.
In their series win at NDSU (May 3-5), the Golden Grizzlies hit .275 and scored just under 5 runs per game. The starting pitching was even more impressive, working 27.2 innings, allowing just seven earned runs and posted a sparkling 2.32 earned run average.
**Construction has begun on the OU Baseball Field and fans are encouraged to watch the games from the hill or down the left-field line where spectator's seating is provided.
