MANHATTAN, Kan. -- The Oakland baseball team (0-4) will play a modified schedule when it takes on Kansas State (3-3) in a three-game series at Tointon Family Stadium over the weekend. The Golden Grizzlies and Wildcats will play a single game on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. ET, followed by a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. ET.

Golden Grizzlies Notes

  • This is the first meeting between Oakland and Kansas State
  • The Golden Grizzlies are 0-7 against current members of the Big 12 conference, going 0-4 against Kansas and 0-3 against Oklahoma
  • OU is 21-12 over the last 33 games carrying over from last season
  • The Golden Grizzleis have opened up against an opponent from a power six conference in each of the last three seasons, facing teams from the SEC, Big 12, SEC/Big East and ACC
  • Transfer Jared Theisen began his OU career by going 5-for-14 at the plate, with a team-best three RBIs over the weekend. He was also 2-for-3 on the base paths
