Cleveland State Blanks Oakland, 7-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Brittany Baxter played the best for Oakland (0-8), winning games in both singles and doubles, in a 7-0 loss to Cleveland State (6-3) at the Malaga Tennis Center on Saturday.

Baxter partnered with Caitlin Young at No. 2 doubles and battled to an 8-4 defeat. The Golden Grizzlies' team of Grace Keating and Demi Georgakopoulos lost 8-3 at No. 1 dobules.

In singles play Baxter fell 6-2, 6-2 to Kara Sherwood at the No. 3 spot. CSU claimed all five singles matches in straight sets, with Mengdi Liu accepting the win by forfeit at the No. 6 position.

Oakland forfeited both No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles for the third time in the last four matches.

Oakland is back in action on Sunday in a match at Youngstown State at 8:30 a.m.
