Complete Results

LAS VEGAS - Sophomores Karen Karoub and Caitlin Young picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, but it wasn't enough to put the Golden Grizzlies on top as the Oakland University women's tennis team (1-13) fell 5-2 to Cal State Bakersfield (4-14) Wednesday afternoon at Bally's Resort tennis center.

Karoub took down Veronica Dimas 6-2, 6-2, while Young took a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 win over Nefeli Diamanti for the Golden Grizzlies, her second consecutive win at No. 2 singles.

In doubles play, all three teams fell by narrow 8-6 margins.

The Black and Gold will pick up league play once more when they face South Dakota State and Southern Utah on Thursday, April 15.
