Oakland Falls 5-2 to Cal State Bakersfield

LAS VEGAS - Sophomore Caitlin Young and junior Amanda Pettey picked up wins in singles play, but it wasn't enough to out the Golden Grizzlies on top as the Oakland University women's tennis team (1-12, 1-3 Summit League) fell 5-2 to Cal State Bakersfield (2-14) Tuesday afternoon at the Bally's Resort tennis center.

Young took a 3-6 (8-6), 6-4, 7-6 victory at No. 2 singles, while Pettey cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.

In doubles action, junior Jackie Dinicu and sophomore Caryn Shermetaro took an 8-6 victory.

These two teams will face each other once more on Wednesday, April 14 for a 9 a.m. face-off.
