EAST LANSING, Mich. - Junior Tommy Jablonski went 3-for-4 with a double as the Oakland University baseball team (3-12) lost 11-2 to Michigan State (15-4) Saturday afternoon at McLane Stadium.
In the fifth inning, freshman Mike Carson led off with a sharp double down the left field line. Carson moved to third on a ground out and scored off a single to left field by freshman Todd Dunham.
In the top of the sixth inning, junior D.J. Jarrad ripped a double down the left field line. Junior Tommy Jablonski singled through the right side to move Jarrad to third. A fielder's choice allowed Jarrad to score making it 7-2.
Junior Mark Leichtman (0-1) gave up eight hits, six runs, five of them earned, walked six batters and struck out two in four and 1/3rd innings of work.
Oakland finishes the four-game series, Sunday afternoon. The game is scheduled to start at 1:05 p.m.
