Oakland Falls To Michigan State

March 26, 2010

Box Score

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Sophomore Tim Ryan had a double as the Oakland University baseball team (3-10) lost 8-0 to Michigan State (13-4) Friday afternoon at McLane Stadium.

In the bottom of the second inning, Michigan State had runners on first and second with no outs. The Spartans hit a falling line drive that sophomore Aaron Cieslak made a great catch of.

The runners were going and Cieslak threw the ball in to junior D.J. Jarrad who tagged second and then made the throw to sophomore Connor Mielock at first. It was the first triple play since Oakland moved up to NCAA Division I.

Sophomore Kyle Teague (1-3) gave up 13 hits, eight runs, walked three batters and struck out four in seven innings of work.

Oakland will return to East Lansing on Saturday, Mar. 27 for a doubleheader. The first game is scheduled to start at 12:05 p.m.
