DAYTON, Ohio - Sophomore Karen Karoub fought a hard battle at No. 1 singles, but it wasn't enough to put the Golden Grizzlies on the scoreboard as the Oakland University women's tennis team (0-3) fell to Wright State (5-4) Saturday afternoon at the WSU Tennis Courts.
A native of Farmington, Hills, Mich. Karoub rebounded from a 6-4 loss in the first set at No. 1 singles and took a 6-3 victory in the second set. She was unable to pull off the win, however, and fell in the tie-breaking set 6-4. In doubles action,
Karoub and sophomore Caitlin Young battled at No. 1 doubles before falling 8-4.
The Golden Grizzlies will wrap up their stay in Ohio with a match against Dayton on Sunday, March 14.
