Rochester, Mich. (Nov. 10, 2006) ???C Oakland???s Athletics Center O???Rena will officially come alive with the sounds of basketball for the first time in the 2006-07 season tonight when the men???s basketball team kicks off its season. The Golden Grizzlies will host Defiance College in a 7:00 p.m. tip, opening the season at home for the first time four years. Oakland will have a familiar look to it as it starts the 2006-07 season. The Golden Grizzlies return virtually its entire lineup intact from last season???s squad, with only two players missing off the roster that saw game action a year ago. Headlining the lineup this season will be three seniors, Vova Severovas (Vilnius, Lithuania), Rick Billings (Detroit, Mich.) and Shawn Hopes (Detroit, Mich.). Severovas is a first team preseason All-Mid-Con pick and the three were the Nos. 2-4 leading scorers from a year ago. For a complete set of game notes please click here.
