The Oakland University baseball team dropped its third straight game to the number one team in the nation, Georgia Tech, 18-0 in Atlanta, Georgia. The loss is Oakland's sixth straight as they fall to 0-6. Georgia Tech improves to 10-1. Oakland fell victim to a 12-run fourth inning that saw the #1 Yellow Jackets scatter 10 hits. The hole was too much for OU to handle as they fell 18-0. Georgia Tech's Matt Lorenzo threw a four-hit complete game shutout as he struck out four OU batters and walked none as he improves to 1-0. Leading Oakland offensively was senior thirdbaseman Rob Brockman (Park Hills, Kentucky) and sophomore Spencer Hynes (Clarkston/Clarkston). Brockman and Hynes went two-for-three respectively. Leading Georgia Tech was shortstop Victor Menocal and Jon Henry Kail. Menocal went three-for-five with two RBI, while Kail went two-for-two with three RBI. Righthanded pitcher Justin Robertson (Lapeer/West) went 3.1 innings, giving up nine hits, eight runs, eight earned runs, walked two and struck out one. Robertson falls to 0-2 overall.
