KEWADIN, Mich. – In its first invitational of the 2026-27 season, the Oakland University women's golf team finished eighth at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational at the A-Ga-Ming Resort's Sundance Course.

The Golden Grizzlies concluded the 54-hole event on the par-72, 6,000-yard course with a team score of 902 (+38), highlighted by a third-round score of three-over 293, which tied for the second-best score for the final day. With a competitive field and only four strokes separating Oakland from five of the seven teams ahead, the team stayed in contention through the end.

Freshman Hunter Edwards led the team for all three rounds, placing 10th with a score of three-over 219. She ranked second in par-5 average at 4.75 and fourth in birdies made with 11. In the final round, Edwards carded five birdies and posted the first under-par round of her career with a 71 (-1).

Tying for 19th place were senior Lily Bargamian and freshman Avery Manning, both finishing with a 224 (+8). Bargamian matched Edwards with a 4.75 par-5 average, while Manning ranked in the top five for par-4 average at 4.03.

Sophomores Logan Bentley and Channing Hagen rounded out Oakland's scoring with totals of 236 (+20) and 238 (+22), respectively. As an individual, freshman Adrianna Mineo placed 81st in the field, recording three birdies in her collegiate debut.

As a team, Oakland averaged 5.03 strokes on par 5s, second only to host school and champion Central Michigan, and finished with the third-most birdies in the field with 36.
