Men's Basketball Set for Cleveland State

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland Men's Basketball is looking for its first road win in four years inside the Wolstein Center as the Golden Grizzlies are set for a mid-week matchup at Cleveland State on Wednesday, Feb. 4. Action starts at 7 p.m. ET.

The Golden Grizzlies (14-10, 10-3 HL) secured a 76-65 victory over Northern Kentucky on Sunday inside the OU Credit Union O'rena.

Fifth-year Michael Houge led the team with 18 points and collected 12 rebounds, picking up the double-double and achieving a season-high total of five offensive rebounds. Senior Brody Robinson was a key contributor, scoring 21 points and dishing out six assists as senior Ziare Wells made an impact with three blocks and added in season-high 5 assists. Redshirt-freshman Warren Marshall IV contributed defensively with two blocks, scored eight points, and now picked up at least four rebounds in two straight games.

Robinson is getting national attention for his marks in assists and free throws this season. The point guard is ranked 8th in the NCAA in total assists (152 assists) and 20th in assists/game (6.3 apg). From the line, the Houston native is second in the country in three throws made, netting 157 shots from the line this season as he leads the country in free throw attempts with 203 tries.

Tip-off in Cleveland will be available to stream on ESPN+ and locally on Rock Entertainment with Al Pawlowski (PxP) and Pat Vuyanich (Color) on the call. The "Voice of the Golden Grizzlies" Neal Ruhl will be on the radio on 97.1HD-3/1270am or the Audacy App online.

SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
Cleveland State is on a hot streak, winning their last four games and set to split the series with OU for the second year in a row. Dayan Nessah picked up his second straight Horizon League Player of the Week honor after leading the Vikings to a Wisconsin sweep, like Oakland this season. The sophomore averaged 18.5 points, 11 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in those games.

Greg Kampe and the Golden Grizzlies rolled past Cleveland State in December, as Wells recorded a then season-high total of 23 points, connecting on 10 of 17 shots from the field, picking up eight rebounds, and adding in three steals. Houge recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, making all eight of his free throw attempts as junior Isaac Garrett also connected for a double-double, contributing 12 points and 10 rebounds. Oakland capitalized on points off turnovers and holding off the Vikings' defense with the offensive glass.
