ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Golden Grizzlies are headed to Ann Arbor this weekend to compete in the Wolverine Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan. The 54-hole event begins on Sunday, Sept. 7 with 36 holes, and concludes on Monday, Sept. 8 with the final 18.
This is Oakland's first trip back to Ann Arbor since the 2022 season, when they competed in the NCAA Regionals after winning their second Horizon League Tournament title. In the spring, Michigan will once again host one of the six NCAA Regionals, with the invitational serving as a preview.
The Wolverine Invitational will consist of 15 teams: Chattanooga, Florida International, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kennesaw State, Kent State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oakland, Purdue, Rutgers, South Florida, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
At the A-Ga-Ming Invitational, the team finished fourth overall and had all four golfers finish within the top 20. Junior Lily Bargamian led the Golden Grizzlies, finishing the invitational tied for seventh overall, just two-over-par.
The five qualifiers for the Wolverine Invitational will include Lily Bargamian, Olivia Hemmila, Grace Boczar, Paige Scott, and Channing Hagen. The first round begins with a shotgun start at 8:45 AM.
