ROCHESTER, Mich. – After nearly three weeks of rest, the Oakland women's golf team is back in action on Sunday, competing in the Women's Fighting Irish Classic.
The Golden Grizzlies will travel to The Warren GCS at Notre Dame to play in the one-day, 36-hole invitational. A shotgun start is set for 9:00 A.M. in South Bend, Indiana.
The Women's Fighting Irish Classic tournament field consists of teams from Central Michigan, Dayton, Evansville, IU Indy, Notre Dame, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, Valpo, and Youngstown State. Oakland will be paired with Evansville and Central Michigan on the green.
Four teams, including Oakland, will be represented from the Horizon League. As former back-to-back Horizon League Champions, this will be a true test to see how the Golden Grizzlies compete with their conference opponents. Youngstown State, the runner-up Horizon League champion the last two seasons, has currently won three-straight fall tournaments this season, and will be looking for its fourth this weekend.
Lily Bargamian, Olivia Hemmila, Logan Bentley, Paige Scott, and Grace Boczar will be traveling to the University of Notre Dame to compete for the Golden Grizzlies.
