ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland Men's Golf team will tee off their season by hosting the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate at Oakland University – Katke Course. The 54-hole event begins with 36 holes on Saturday, Sept. 13, and concludes with the final 18 on Sunday, Sept. 14.
In its second year, the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate will return to the Katke Course, which is set up for a par 72 and 7,273 yards. The inaugural event saw Wright State take the victory with a three-day total of -2, with Oakland securing second place with +6.
This year's event will feature 12 teams: Cleveland State, Wright State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Ohio University, Bowling Green, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, IU Indianapolis, Detroit Mercy, Toledo, Butler, and Green Bay. There will also be individual golfers participating from Wright State (1), Purdue Fort Wayne (1), Bowling Green (1), Oakland (3), Toledo (2), Butler (1), and Notre Dame (3).
Head coach Robby Pickett will officially begin his role at Oakland with this competition, accompanied by a strong returning group. The five qualifiers for the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate are Ellis Kinnaird, Matteo Rocco, Brennan Sullivan, Jack Zubkus, and Robert Burns, all of whom are returning players. Ben Willis, Luke Kelly, and freshman Rakshit Dahiya will be competing as individuals during the event.
The first round begins with a shotgun start at 8:00 AM. Fans and supporters can stay updated on all the action of the tournament via live scoring, which can be found on Clippd.
