ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The Golden Grizzlies are ready to return to the course under new head coach Robby Pickett as they have officially released their 2025-26 schedule.
Oakland will officially begin their fall session on their home course as they host the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate on Saturday, Sept. 13 and Sunday, Sept. 14.
After their annual home tournament to begin the year, Oakland will hit the road for the final four matches of the calendar year, participating in the Badger Invitational at Wisconsin (Sept. 22-23), the Tom Tontimonia Invitational at Cleveland State (Oct. 6-7), Purdue Fall Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. (Oct. 13-14), and the Flyer Invitational at Dayton (Oct. 20-21).
Oakland looks to repeat a season-best showing at Cleveland State in fall of 2024 where they won the Tom Tontimonia Invitational as a team, finishing seven-under-par in two rounds (276, 277). Senior Luke Kelly took home the individual title, carding 135 (-5) at Pine Hills Golf Club.Â
The Golden Grizzlies will be off during the winter before they return to competition, opening the spring season with a mid-February showing at the Bentwater Intercollegiate (Feb. 9-210), hosted by Sam Houston State. Oakland will then bring their clubs south to the bayou state to golf in the Golden Nugget Invitational at McNeese (Mar. 2-3).
To end the regular season, Oakland will head to the east for the ECU Intercollegiate (Mar. 16-17), hosted by East Carolina University, before returning to the midwest for the Don Benbow Invitational at Butler (Mar. 30-31), and The Jewell Invitational at Horizon League member Northern Kentucky (Apr. 5-7) for the first time since the 2023-24 season.Â
Out of their nine road matches, Oakland is returning to three courses they traveled to over the 2024-25 season, with new trips to Wisconsin, Purdue, Dayton, Sam Houston, McNeese, and Northern Kentucky, as the team hopes to improve on some already impressive finishes at the locations in their last campaign.
Horizon League Championships will be held from Apr. 25-27 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. as the Golden Grizzlies look to win their second Horizon League Title in program history, after finishing in the top five in three of the last four seasons.
