ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Golden Grizzlies men's and women's cross country teams have announced its schedule for the 2025 season Thursday.

After a second place finish last season, the women are determined to pick up their sixth Horizon League title and first since 2023 after defeating Purdue Fort Wayne by 25 points. The men look to build off last year's third place finish and claim the Horizon League title for the first time since 2017.

The team opens up its 2025 season at home for the first time since 2021 with the 21st Golden Grizzlies Open Aug. 29 held at the Oakland Cross Country Course. After a three-week break, Oakland heads west to Kalamazoo to compete in the Western Michigan-hosted George Dales Invitational Sept. 19. 

Kicking off October, OU is set to race at the Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend, Ind. on Oct. 3 before splitting at two meets the following Friday. On Oct. 17, the Golden Grizzlies will divide up and compete at the Alabama Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala. and the Mel Brodt Open in Bowling Green, Ohio. Oakland wraps up its season at Eastern Michigan University for the EMU Fall Classic on Oct. 24.

The Horizon League Championship, hosted this year by Purdue Fort Wayne, takes place Saturday, Nov. 1. The weeks following, the NCAA Great Lakes Regional is set for Friday, Nov. 14, in Evansville, Ind., followed by the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Columbia, Mo.
