COLUMBUS, Oh. - The Oakland University women's golf team wrapped up their appearance at the NCAA Columbus Regional with a total team score of 942, placing 12th overall.
The Golden Grizzlies battled a stacked field and steadily improved through the three-round tournament, culminating in their strongest team performance in the final round with a 308.
Leading the way for Oakland was
Olivia Hemmila, who finished tied for 51st individually. Hemmila opened the tournament with a strong first round, carding a 75 (+3), which stood as her best score of the event. She followed with a 79 (+7) and closed with a 77 (+5) for a total of 231 (+15). Her opening round was a stabilizing effort for the Golden Grizzlies and set a consistent tone early in the competition.
Lily Bargamian delivered solid bookend performances, shooting 77 (+5) in both the first and final rounds. Her consistent play earned her 58th place overall with a tournament total of 234 (+18), and her ability to finish strong in the third round contributed significantly to the team's final-day improvement.
Grace Boczar made the biggest leap on the final day. After starting with rounds of 80 (+8) and 81 (+9), she bounced back impressively with a 75 (+3) in the third round, her best score of the tournament. That surge allowed her to finish tied for 60th at 236 (+20) and showcased her resilience under pressure.
Nateda Her also finished on a more positive note. Despite a tough second round of 84 (+12), she began the tournament with a 78 (+6) and improved in the third round to a 79 (+7), closing with a cumulative score of 241 (+25). Her ability to rebound in the final round added depth to Oakland's team effort.
Savannah Haque rounded out the Oakland lineup, shooting 81 (+9) in both the first and third rounds. Though she struggled in round two with an 85 (+13), she maintained her composure and matched her opening-day score to finish at 247 (+31) in 65th place.
While the team faced a tough challenge in a deep field, their final-round total of 308 marked their best showing of the week. Oakland's performance in Columbus demonstrated their determination and ability to compete at the national level, and several individual efforts—especially those strong closing rounds—show why they have made it to this stage of competition in a semi-dynastic capacity for the Horizon League.
