Box Score KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Oakland women's tennis team put up a strong fight but ultimately fell 5-2 to Western Michigan on Saturday in non-conference action.

The Golden Grizzlies secured two singles victories, with Warisara Lee earning a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles and Martyna Piechowicz delivering a dominant 6-1, 6-2 performance at No. 6. Despite battling in several close matches, Oakland was unable to overcome the Broncos' depth.

In doubles play, Western Michigan claimed the point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. The No. 2 doubles match featuring Edie Hammond and Piechowicz remained unfinished with Oakland leading 6-5.
The Golden Grizzlies will look to bounce back on Sunday as they face Davenport University in their next road matchup.
