Tennis to Take on Milwaukee and Chicago State on the Road

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Tennis is back on the road to open up Horizon League play Saturday, March 29, against Milwaukee, then Chicago State Sunday, March 30. This will be the Golden Grizzlies first Horizon League match of the spring following a stout non-conference schedule.

Oakland will take on a tough Milwaukee squad on Saturday, followed by a match-up with Chicago State to close out the weekend. Milwaukee (6-10) enters the weekend after a tough loss to NJIT, while Chicago State (0-7) will aim to defend home court against the visiting Golden Grizzlies on their way to their first win of the season.

Oakland will rely on strong performances from Warisara Lee, Emilia Jarvinen, and Edie Hammond, while the team's depth across singles and doubles play to secure victories. Lee is currently on a three-match winning streak in the No. 3 and 4 spots. Jarvinen and Hammond combined last week to secure a doubles win at Wayne State and look to bring that momentum to Milwaukee and Chicago.

First serve against Milwaukee is set for 11:00 am on Saturday, with Sunday's match at Chicago State beginning at 6:00 pm.
