INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Senior
Wesley Hollowell was named the Horizon League's Men's Runner of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. The White Lake, Mich. native broke the program's 8k record, clocking in at 23:51.50 at the Joe Piane Invitational last Friday, leading a pack of three Oakland runners under 24 minutes for the first time in school history.
Hollowell finished in 45th place out of 150 runners in the division in South Bend, securing another top spot for the Black and Gold for the third time this season. The Oakland men collectively finished the meet in 14th place, with numerous personal bests on display.
The Golden Grizzlies recently added another meet to their 2025 calendar, Oakland will now head back to the Hoosier state for the Ray Bullock Invitational, hosted by Taylor University, next Friday, Oct. 10.
